Shmaltz He’Brew Genesis 15:15 – Snobby Beer Reviews

This is the Snobby Beer review of He’Brew Genesis 15:15 from Shmaltz Brewing Company in San Francisco, CA and Saratoga Springs, NY. This barley wine style ale is brewed with pomegranate juice, date juice, fig juice, and grape juice. It is also aged for months in Rye whiskey barrels. This beer has a LOT going on!

From the Shmaltz press release:

“Genesis 15:15® is the fourth batch of beer to be aged in Shmaltz’s Sazerac 6-Year Rye Whiskey barrels, undergoing approximately 9 months of close monitoring while in the barrel. Like Shmaltz Brewing itself, this Harvest Barleywine is truly a labor of love that unites the flavors and shtick of Shmaltz’s 15-year history. Cult fans can expect fierce deliciousness from Genesis 15:15®, as the Chicago Sun-Times mused in a recent article on Shmaltz Brewing, because ‘barleywine is to beer as lions are to cats.’”
