Last night, I hosted a small beer tasting for the first time. It was a very enjoyable time! The highlights of the night were The Bruery Batch 300 Tripel, Great Lakes Barrel-Aged Blackout Stout, Cantillon Classic Gueuze, ’08 Goose Island Pere Jacques, and a homebrewed chocolate coconut stout from Jason Box – yum!
From left to right: 2008 Goose Island Pere Jacques, Dark Horse Too Cream Stout, Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye, Southern Tier Mokah, Epic Brewing/DC Brau Fermentation Without Representation, Full Sail Extra Special Barney, Stone / The Alchemist / Ninkasi More Brown Than Black IPA, Founders Breakfast Stout, Rockmill Witbier, The Bruery Hottenroth, Great Lakes Barrel Aged Blackout Stout, The Bruery Batch 300 Tripel
The aftermath. Cantillon Classic Gueuze and Barrel Aged Blackout Stout.
Jason Box (DaytonBrewing) posted a video of some of the tasting, an anti-climactic opening of Gueuze, and me yelling at my loud dog. Check it out!
